This evening I went to a polyglot club soiree that my friend Montanna told me about - polyglotclub.com.
These events are basically a language swap - we spent the first hour speaking English and the following hour speaking French. There were people from all over the world and the whole idea is to practice your chosen language with native speakers. It's fairly informal and such a good idea, not least because we are all there for the same reason - to learn!
I met such a diverse group of people - as well as a French solicitor of course. I can't seem to step out of the house without bumping into an 'avocat'. This is hopefully a sign that I am in the right profession although maybe us legal types just gravitate towards eachother!
I will definitely be going to another one of their evenings which are held a couple of times a week.
